Summer 2024 Frequently Asked Questions
Please note that this information is fluid and may be updated at any time.
WHAT SHOULD MY STUDENT WEAR TO CAMP?
+ Sunscreen
+ Water Bottle with Name
+ Lunch/Snack Sack (for Full-Day students). We’ll also have extra snacks in case something is forgotten.
+ Wear comfy clothes they can move and play in. Comfy walking shoes are helpful. We also have occasional water play activities where the kiddos can get their legs or feet wet to cool off.
HOW WILL DROP-OFF AND PICKUP WORK?
You will drop your child off at the door where you will be warmly welcomed by an SYS staff member who will show your child where they can put their stuff and get them started on the first activity of the day. Simply come to the front door again when it’s time for pickup, and a staff member will assist you in gathering your child and their things.
WILL YOU BE LEAVING SYS DURING CAMP DAYS?
Half Day Campers do not leave the studio. Full Day Campers will have outside activities and Fields trips such as outside activity classes, sunshine walks around the block or Field Trips to Myriad Gardens or the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. We plan these outings in the morning before the temperature is too hot to be outside and continually monitor the weather. We also make sure to maintain a safe student-to-teacher ratio so it easy to keep an eye on all learners as we move through the community. All travel happens on foot, and your child will never be put into a vehicle and driven to a destination.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY STUDENT IS SICK?
Stay home if your student or a family member is sick. Anytime your student is absent - please text, call, or email the studio to make us aware of their absence. If a student develops or exhibits symptoms while at the studio we will notify the parent/guardian and have you pick them up.
IF I CAN’T ATTEND WILL I BE ABLE TO GET A REFUND?
No refunds. Due to the popular nature of our camps and staffing, we have to ensure spots are secured and cannot accept refunds. We often are able to find solutions where we can transfer you to another camp week that works for your schedule. In some specific cases, we can transfer your camp credit to Fall semester activities.
